This session will combine the teaching of Language Arts, Social Studies and 21st Century Skills. Students will work in 3 groups to complete the driving questions. Each group will be exposed to 3 stimuli to tackle the questions and in the process understand how modern technology help historians solve mysteries of the past better. Students will learn about the roles of an archaeologist and Octocopher EIGHT, Leica ScanStation P20 and Thermo Scientific Niton XL3t XRF Analyzer as some of the examples of cutting edge archaeology tools. Students learn how an author uses reasons and evidence to support particular points in a text, identifying which reasons and evidence support which point(s), identify the points of views expressed in primary and secondary information sources regarding science and technology, and work collaboratively as a team to demonstrate learning.
